Roger That K9 Training (RTK9) is a family-owned and operated business built on passion, trust, and a shared love for dogs. Co-owners Nick and Lex turned their individual experiences with training into a united mission: to help families and their dogs build stronger, more confident relationships through balanced, effective training.

Together, they bring a unique blend of expertise — Nick with his background in behavior rehabilitation and confidence-building, and Lex with her experience as an AKC evaluator and accomplished competitor in Conformation and performance sports. At RTK9, every dog is treated like family, and every client is welcomed into a community where results, support, and understanding go hand in hand.

More than a training company, RTK9 is a family legacy built on the belief that with the right guidance, every dog has the potential to thrive.

Nick Krave

Founder, Co-Owner & Trainer

Nick’s love for dogs began long before he ever thought of turning it into a profession. Growing up, he was the go-to guy for family pets, neighbors’ dogs, and any four-legged friend that needed a little extra attention. What started as a natural connection quickly turned into a passion for understanding canine behavior and building stronger relationships between dogs and people.

That passion eventually grew into Roger That K9 Training, where Nick combines his balanced training philosophy with a strategic, results-driven mindset. He specializes in confidence-building, behavior rehabilitation, and teaching owners how to communicate clearly with their dogs. For Nick, training isn’t just about obedience — it’s about creating trust, respect, and a lifelong bond.

As both a trainer and business owner, Nick has guided countless families through transformations that go far beyond basic commands. His mission is to show clients that with the right structure and communication; any dog can thrive.

When he isn’t working with dogs, Nick enjoys off-road adventures in his side-by-side, finding new ways to innovate in business, and spending quality time with his family and pack.

Lex Wheeler

Co-Owner, Trainer & AKC Evaluator

Lex’s passion for training dogs began with her own pets, where she quickly discovered that working with dogs brought out the best in her — and them. Early on, she stepped into the world of Conformation and performance sports, where she found joy in both the challenge and the partnership that comes from training and showing. That spark never left, and it eventually became the foundation for her career.

Over the years, she has titled her own dogs — and dogs of many breeds for top breeders — in Conformation, Rally Obedience, and other performance sports. She co-founded RTK9 with Nick to share that same passion with others, helping families not just train their dogs but understand them.

As an AKC evaluator and trainer, Lex blends her show-ring precision with a practical, client-first approach. She loves teaching handlers that training isn’t about perfection — it’s about building trust, consistency, and teamwork. Her ability to break down complex training into simple, achievable steps makes her a trusted guide for both new and seasoned dog owners.

When she’s not training, Lex enjoys mentoring handlers, speaking at seminars, and continuing to grow her own expertise in the dog world.
